How do I apply for the program?
If you are interested in applying for the "It's a HIT!" Training Program, simply select Apply Now from the begining of July through the end of August in 2016 and you will be redirected to the online application form. Please fill out the form and provide us with an email address. The Network Director will then email you the Training Program Application.

Health Information Technology (HIT) competency is vital to the future of healthcare organizations, and can improve adoption of Electronic Health Records, Meaningful Use and support improvement in healthcare outcomes.
What experience do I need to participate in this program?
Because Health IT is a relatively new field of work, our students enter the program with a variety of experiences and skills. Experience or education in healthcare or information technology is helpful.
Where can I take my AHIMA Certification Exam?
The AHIMA CHTS exams are administered by numerous Pearson VUE testing sites located across North and South Dakota. Select this link to find a testing center near you.
What does the program cost?
The "It's a HIT!" Training Program cost is $799 per student. This fee covers course material, lectures, assignments and preparation materials.

How much time is required to participate in the "It's a HIT!" Training Program?
The program requires that students invest approximately 3 hours per week through the duration of the training program (from September through May). During the HIT training phase, course work is completed online at your own pace. The EHR training phase is instructor led, and training sessions are scheduled at specific times each week.
