The "It's a HIT!" Training Program
We, at the Prairie Health Information Technology Network, are excited to announce the availability of the “It’s a HIT!” Training Program. The program goal is to develop highly skilled health IT employees to support clinic staff in the adoption, implementation, and meaningful use of the Electronic Health Record. The core of the "It's a HIT!" program curriculum is based on the Office of the National Coordinator's workforce development program. The curriculum is designed to train new and incumbent employees and create a workforce of skilled health IT professionals.
The "It’s a HIT!” Training Program includes the following three phases designed to grow health IT expertise:
Learn the ins and outs of the eClinicalWorks EMR system while applying principles and knowledge gained through HIT training. EHR training will improve system skills and help gain efficiencies related to the EHR.
Access and gain HIT knowledge via the self-paced online curriculum. Students will work on content that will prepare them to become an HIT Workflow Redesign Specialist.
Apply concepts learned during the HIT and EHR training during a hands-on final project,
where students design and develop a project of choice to create clinic workflow
Prepare to earn an AHIMA CHTS certification as a HIT Workflow Redesign Specialist.
